Firefighting is a difficult and dangerous process. Fires are extinguished in a specific (complex) environment. In general, it is characterized by a number of circumstances, the impact of which under certain conditions can negatively affect the conduct of firefighting operations. Such circumstances include high temperatures and flames, atmospheric pollution with combustion products, possible mechanical impact on a person by elements of collapsing structures. These very significant circumstances are called hazardous fire factors (HFF). If their parameters exceed certain critical values, they can cause firefighter injuries, poisoning and even death. To reduce the impact of HFF on firefighters, a system and means of their protection have been developed. These include: personal respiratory protective equipment (PPE), smoke exhausters, and firefighter equipment.
The equipment includes: firefighter combat clothing (FCC), a helmet, a helmet, personal hand protection equipment (PPE) and special footwear.
In difficult fire conditions, special protective clothing of an insulating type and special protective clothing for firefighters from increased thermal effects are used. All firefighter equipment is made of materials with high mechanical strength, heat resistance and water resistance. These properties of the materials provide protection of human skin from physical exposure, as well as from climatic effects. A firefighter must have combat clothing that ensures safety and is comfortable for personnel during fires, during tactical exercises and other training sessions to solve fire problems. Clothing, as a firefighter’s equipment, must protect against radiant energy and heat flows from flames, ionizing radiation, strong chemical and toxic substances, reactive solutions and water. For employees of fire services (divisions), the company “LEGIO” has developed a set of clothes that will provide protection of the human body (except for the head, hands and feet) from dangerous fire factors. Our suit (TZOZT-2) fully complies with DSTU 4366:2004 “Firefighter’s protective clothing” to protect the human body (except for the head, hands and feet) from dangerous fire factors.
The suit is made of specialized material based on meta-aramid, para-aramid or Kevlar fibers and is resistant to high temperatures and flames. Fire-resistant reflective tape and thread are also used in the manufacture of the suit. The material’s resistance is achieved not by special impregnations, but by the properties of the fabric fibers themselves, so the fire-resistant properties are not lost even with frequent washing of the suit.
Combines effective protection against high temperatures and fire, surfactants and petroleum products.
The suit material is resistant to abrasion and cuts.
The suit design provides air exchange in the undersuit space.
The suit retains its elastic properties at low temperatures.
For convenient use and care of the product, the suit consists of:
outer – the layer consists of specialized high-quality fire-retardant material based on meta-aramid, para-aramid or Kevlar fibers.
inner – removable multi-layer heat-insulating lining, consisting of fabric with a waterproof coating, a heat-insulating layer and lining fabric.
! It is very important to note – not only the fabric should be fire-resistant, but also the reflective tapes, threads with which the suit is sewn, and of course the seams should be glued (to prevent water from getting in).
The suit kit includes:
jacket
overalls (pants)
removable heat-insulating lining
! the presence of a removable lining makes it possible to wash and dry clean the set.
The weight of the BOP (in an unequipped state) is no more than 5 kg.
Protective properties of the kit (maintained upon exposure):
Exposure to thermal radiation with a heat flow density of at least 7 kW/m2 – at least 180 seconds;
Exposure to thermal radiation with a heat flow density of at least 40 kW/m2 – at least 10 seconds;
Resistance of at least 300 seconds when exposed to a temperature (heat resistance) of 300 ºС;
Resistance to contact with a hard surface heated to 400 ºС for at least 7 seconds;
Water resistance for at least 60 seconds (including seams);
Resistance to surfactants for at least 3 hours;
Maintaining the BOP in good working order and constant combat readiness is ensured by proper operation and storage.
What is important to pay attention to:
It is prohibited to use the BOP without means of protecting the hands, feet and head of the firefighter, to use the BOP unbuttoned, separately with a jacket or trousers or without a lining.
Maintaining the BOP in good condition and constant combat readiness is ensured by proper operation and storage.
