Mandatory and voluntary production certification
Today, in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, both mandatory and voluntary certification of products related to personal protective equipment (including special and protective clothing) is carried out.
Certification is a procedure by which an authorized body is recognized in the established order and documents the compliance of the product with the requirements established by the legislation in force in Ukraine (DSTU, DSTU EN, ISO, GOST, TU, etc.).
Due to the entry into force of the Technical Regulation of PPE certification, the presence of a certificate of conformity according to the UkrSEPRO system is currently not mandatory. And since 2017, certification according to the UkrSEPRO system will be canceled altogether. The only valid documents confirming the conformity of the products will be the Type Inspection Certificate and the Declaration of Conformity.
The type inspection certificate is a confirmation of the product’s compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations.
Technical regulation of personal protective equipment No. 761 (entered into force on March 10, 2009) defines requirements for the level of safety of personal protective equipment, establishes rules for marking the specified equipment and putting it into operation. The requirements of the technical regulations are mandatory for the production manufacturer. Also, the product must be accompanied by a declaration of conformity. /p>
The declaration of conformity is made by the manufacturer or his authorized person based on the results of the assessment of compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations by applying compliance modules.
The module A conformity assessment procedure is personal protective equipment belonging to the first category, namely personal protective equipment that has a simple design and is intended for protection against minor mechanical impacts.
The conformity assessment procedure for module B in combination with module C or D is personal protective equipment belonging to the second and third categories, where the second category is personal protective equipment that has a design of medium complexity and does not belong to the first and third categories, and the third category is personal protective equipment that has a high complexity design and is intended for protection against danger that threatens people’s lives.;
